SEQUOIA PARKS CONSERVANCY ANNOUNCES REOPENING OF CRYSTAL CAVE
IN SUMMER 2025

Three Rivers, CA –Sequoia Parks Conservancy is excited to announce the reopening of
Crystal Cave will be open to the public in the summer of 2025. After extensive restoration work in
collaboration with the National Park Service, Sequoia Parks Conservancy will once
again offer visitors the opportunity to explore the cave’s stunning natural formations.

Crystal Cave, one of over 250 caves in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, is
the only cave in the parks open for public tours. Known for its intricate and naturally
decorated formations, the cave offers a living underground wilderness experience. Each
room is distinct, showcasing the cave's special features. The 50-minute tour is accessed
via a narrow, steep trail with uneven surfaces, making it moderately strenuous. The
cave is not recommended for individuals with heart or respiratory conditions.

Tours at Crystal Cave began in 1940 and have become a cherished tradition for park
visitors. “We are thrilled to welcome visitors back to Crystal Cave and share this
incredible natural wonder,” said Savannah Boiano, Executive Director of Sequoia Parks
Conservancy. “This cave is home to unique species, and we look forward to inspiring
our visitors to actively contribute to the preservation of this precious underground
environment. We are also eager for another great summer of offering unforgettable
tours in such a beautiful place. Visitors can expect to explore the cave’s remarkable
features while learning about its unique ecosystem and the ongoing efforts to protect
this underground treasure.”

Tickets for Crystal Cave tours will be available starting in spring 2025. Prices and
additional details will be posted on the Sequoia Parks Conservancy website.
